High-level public beach resort in Kep
According to Khmer Times, Cambodia’s National Committee for Coastal Management and Development granted its support for a project to build a high-level public beach resort in Kep province on Thursday.
According to a committee release issued on Friday, the development contract is between the state and the private sector to upgrade and create beaches, public leisure, public spaces, and green spaces for the public and tourists.
According to the committee, the development is in Prey Thom commune’s Thmey village in Kep city, with a length of 2,700 meters and a public beach at least 30 meters wide.

The project will also plant trees on the 50-meter-wide coastal forage land as part of a public-private development contract intended to boost recreation and green areas for the public and visitors.
Kep is a small province where the provincial authorities have prioritized tourism development, Said by provincial deputy governor Vao Sokha
He stated that Kep has a shoreline of around 450 meters, and since it is so narrow, it is difficult to attract visitors.
Therefore officials have sought private investment partners to extend further.
Because Kep has shallow beaches, the provincial authorities will renovate them by obtaining excellent sand to fill them to establish new leisure places and broaden the scope to attract more visitors than ever before, he added.
