In an effort to revitalize Cambodian tourism, the country intends to vaccinate everyone in the tourism industry, as well as 90 percent of the population, by the end of the year.
“We need to instill confidence in all vaccinated tourists that Cambodia is a safe place to visit without fear of contracting the disease”
Tourism Minister Thong Khon said
The tourism ministry is also considering eliminating the 14-day quarantine policy for fully vaccinated tourists in order to make travel more convenient.
“Whether or not to quarantine the vaccinated foreign tourists is still being debated with the Ministry of Health”
Khon said
As Cambodia reopens to tourism, new job opportunities will be available in the tourism industry, which stakeholders are looking forward to.
“The reopening will help tourism-related businesses and hotels, as well as regenerate job opportunities for people, particularly those who lost their jobs as a result of the crisis,”
Said Chenda Clais, president of the Cambodia Hotel Association.
