The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has now approved the reopening of museums, theaters, and music halls in Phnom Penh beginning October 30 if they follow the ministry’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other protective measures given by the Ministry of Health.

  • All clients must produce Covid-19 vaccination cards and scan the “Stop Covid” QR Code before access, according to the SOP approved by Culture Minister Phoeurng Sackona on October 27. Children under the age of six are exempt from these restrictions.
  • All patrons must also take their temperature and wear a mask at all times. If there is a suspected case, the subject must be quarantined and sent to health officials.
  • All venues must give special attention to vulnerable populations such as the elderly and children by limiting gatherings.

Tickets will be offered online in order to prevent direct interaction.

Visitors who choose to purchase them at the counter must retain a distance of at least 1.5m.

  • Visitors must be provided with hand sanitizer, and the counter, as well as the entrance and departure points, must be cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Snacks and food must be sold in accordance with sanitary requirements, and payments must be processed in such a way that direct contact between vendors and customers is avoided.

“Only 50% of the entire seating capacity of the museums, theaters, and music halls should be made accessible, and a personal distance of at least 1.5m must be maintained,” the SOP stated, emphasizing that only clients who come in a family of no more than five people are permitted to sit next to each other.

If the play or performance is in order, at least a 30-minute gap is necessary for disinfection.
