According to the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the construction of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway is proceeding well, and the project has reached 63 percent completion to date.
After the expressway mentioned above project is completed, the travel from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville is expected to take only 2 hours, playing an essential role in Cambodia’s social and economic growth and the economic corridor between the two Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.
This is the first time SBS has been treated with asphalt in Cambodia.
The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway has Cambodia’s first SBS pavement, which can resist high temperatures and severe rainfalls while also providing added strength and extending road life.
The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Project was a huge success.
The expressway is a Belt and Road infrastructure project that will cost around $2 billion to build. China Bridge and Road Corporation is responsible for the project (CRBC).
