Itinerary in Details
Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Once you arrive at the hotel, you will be welcomed by one of our management team, and it is the opportunity to go through your itinerary again before it gets started.
We depart the town as we venture towards an unspoiled floating community called Kampong Phluk, known for its stilted-house villages and flooded forest.
Along the way, we will stop to have a look around the Rolous Market. This is a great chance to glimpse the local daily life selling indigenously grown vegetables, different fish species, and other local produce.
We will also see one of the bridges on the Rolous River, built during the period of French dominance in Cambodia. We then board a boat and begin sailing down the river, eventually arriving at the floating community of Kampong Phluk, where we will experience a truly unique way of life.
Within the community, there are fish farms, an island pagoda, schools, and houses built on 8 to 10m high stilts.
As we venture beyond the villages, we will head into the flooded forest; home to some of Cambodia’s water-bird species. The boat will then set off for the largest freshwater lake in SE Asia, Tonle Sap, where we will explore before heading back to the mainland and returning you back to your hotel for your lunch and the rest of the afternoon free.
And, in the evening, you’ll be wowed by the incredible Cambodian circus, which combines acrobatics, music, dance, and culture. The show is put on by the performing arts school in collaboration with Phare Ponleu, a non-profit organization. They’ve given young Cambodians a forum to grow their talents, and their show has impressed audiences all over the world.
The circus show is more accurately represented as music, dance, Cambodian storytelling, and acrobatics rather than a circus. This spectacular display is a must-see for anyone visiting Cambodia.
You can either choose to be picked up at 6:15 pm, meaning that you can eat at the Phare Circus restaurant before the show or at 7:15 pm if you want to eat after the performance.
This morning at 8 am, you’ll get a pickup for the Day In A Life Tour. Our day in the Life Cambodia tour takes you to a real village and gives you the chance to see the real Cambodia; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Today you can visit a local family and walk in their shoes for a few hours. Assist with rice harvesting, planting, thatching, or pulling an ox cart. These tasks vary depending on the season and the family’s daily routine.
This project directly benefits all villagers by offering a year-round source of income. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to take some amazing photos and create lasting memories.
On every Cambodia tour of this kind, a host family looks after the group. This family welcomes you into their home and lives for the day. They are rewarded for their efforts with a small payment and a greater donation to a village fund. Unique projects, such as water filters and wells, are funded by the village fund. We collaborate with the families to decide which projects are necessary.
Today you will enjoy the one and only wakeboard park in the Kingdom of Cambodia! It is located in the city of Siem Reap, home to the world’s largest religious monument called Angkor Wat.
Wakeboarding will be available at the park, with a range of board choices for anyone from beginners to pros. If you just want to watch and relax, there will be free access to our beach area and a restaurant offering local food, wraps, bowls, and refreshing drinks.
At 7:45 am, you will start your cycling to the first temple of Angkor Wat and then visit the temple with your guide. You start cycling to the South Gate and ride to the West Gate off-road.
You will arrive at a hidden temple in the middle of a rice field. Then you will have lunch at a local restaurant in front of the Terrace of the Elephant. After lunch, visit the Bayon temple and ride to the Death Gate of the Angkor Thom city. You finish with a ride under the trees back to the hotel.
In the afternoon, you’ll get picked up from your hotel to Angkor Zipline; we will make you feel like gibbons as you fly for your treetop adventure. With 10 ziplines, 4 hanging bridges, 21 platform stations, and a 50-meter rappel descent, you are sure to have an adrenaline adventure to remember.
Everyone will meet at the zipline for dinner, and the staff will take you for dinner at their restaurant. Afterward, everyone will be transferred back to the hotel to enjoy their rest.
For lunch, everyone will meet at the Angkor Zipline, and the staff will take you for lunch to their restaurant. Afterward, you will be transferred back to the hotel.
(Sunset Boat with snacks)
After breakfast, depart Siem Reap for Kratie, a sleepy Mekong port and the starting point for an encounter with the endangered freshwater Irrawaddy dolphin that lives in Cambodia’s upper reaches of the Mekong. Once you arrive in Kratie, we will go straight to your hotel for check-in.
Rising early, this morning at 8:00 am, you start the day by a traditional fisherman’s boat, which takes you on a one-hour tour to the dolphin pool of Kampi. This is the largest dolphin pool on the Mekong River and is the best natural habitat to witness the critically endangered Mekong Dolphin (Irrawaddy Dolphin). You will spend an hour watching the dolphins in their river environment before returning to the mainland.
After watching the dolphins, you start your journey to Sen Monorom. The first half of the road from Snuol is flat, passing through lush woodland, agricultural areas, and plantations. After reaching the Khau Si Ma district, the road snakes up through the mountains that give Mondulkiri its name, which literally translates as ‘where the mountains meet’. There is a lush jungle hugging the road, and locals claim to see tigers on this stretch at night. As you near the provincial capital, Sen Monorom, the scenery changes again; The jungle gives way to rolling grasslands and clusters of pine trees, a spectacularly unique part of Cambodia. Along the way, you will also see numerous traditional Pnong villages, the main minority group in Mondulkiri.
Once in Sen Monorom, you enjoy some lunch at a local coffee and pepper plantation. Here, you will try local pancakes and try local Cambodian coffee before checking in to the hotel, where you can relax or wish to explore the local market.
At 8 am, you will be relocated from your hotel to a Phnong minority village, where your Cambodian Elephant and local guide (Mahout) will be waiting to greet you. You’ll walk through the forest with the Elephant, through rivers, and past some local minority farms before stopping for lunch at the Trok River.
During lunch, the elephants are released and free to wander around the forest to rest and scavenge for food. After lunch, you then have to go and search for your Cambodian Elephant with your guide. The Elephant is then taken down to the river for a wash and to cool off. You can either watch from the riverbank or go for a swim and assist in washing your Elephant, which you will experience so much fun.
Evening:
As a wonderful insight into Cambodian culture, we take you to a local village just outside the town. Once we arrive at the village, you can explore and play games with the local children before the village elders return from their days of work in the fields.
After that, you and your family will help prepare a typical evening meal and BBQ. Enjoy a great cultural evening, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try a few shots of traditional home-brewed rice wine before heading back to your hotel to relax.
After breakfast at 7:30 am, we leave behind the wilds of the North East and begin the journey to Phnom Penh. We head back to the bustling provincial city of Kompong Cham, where you enjoy a local lunch. We then pause shortly at Skuon, affectionately known as ‘Spiderville’, where it is possible to sample the local delicacy of a deep-fried tarantula.
Once you arrive in Phnom Penh, you’ll go straight to the hotel for check-in.
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up for a Cyclo tour around Phnom Penh’s key sites, such as Wat Phnom, the Central Market, Independence Monument, the Royal Palace, and the Silver Pagoda.
You will visit the National Museum, the largest museum of cultural history and is the country’s leading historical and archaeological museum.
In the afternoon, you will then continue to the Royal Palace complex and attached ‘Silver Pagoda’ compound consisting of several buildings, structures, and gardens, all located within 500×800 meter walled grounds overlooking a riverfront park.
The high sculpted wall and the golden spired Chanchhaya Pavilion, which mark the approach to the Palace, stand out against the riverfront skyline. The high walls of the Palace grounds muffle street noises, and the various Royal buildings rise like ornate islands from the tranquil, manicured tropical gardens. The silver pagoda is also recognized as the Emerald Buddha Pagoda or Wat Preah Kaew.
Then we will continue to the infamous Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21), where you can learn about the turbulent recent history of Cambodia. You will be sent back to your hotel after the tour.
Today you will be picked up to go to the Phnom Penh Royal Safari Park, the first large-scale 200 with a “Four Kingdoms” theme, which features four majestic and fascinating daily animal shows.
Daily Show Schedule:
- Bird Show Times 09:15 am
- Tiger Show Time 09:50 am
- Multi-Show Time 10:25 am
- Crocodile Show Times 11:00 am
- OrangUtan Show Time 11:35am
Today at 8 am, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and transfer to Kampot.
You’ll have a great time touring a synagogue, old and new casinos, and the royal residence. The house, which boasts incredible views of Cambodia’s coastline, was designed by French authorities in the early 1920s to avoid the high summer temperatures. Take a ride up to Bokor Hill Station, and you can also arrange for a picnic lunch to be served at the top.
After your visit, you will be transported directly to your hotel for check-in, and the rest of the day will be at your convenience.
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up to leave for Koh Kong. A province in southwest Cambodia with a vast undeveloped coastline and a rugged interior encompassing part of the Cardamom Mountains’ rainforest. The forested, hilly Koh Kong Island is lined with tropical beaches, mangroves, and small fishing villages.
